Thomas J. Whitaker, Jr. is an entrepreneur, mentor, and community leader committed to advancing educational opportunity, leadership development, and economic mobility for young people.


He is a Charter Member of the OAR Success Foundation and the Founder and Creator of the OARSmen Program, a leadership and mentorship initiative designed to prepare high school students for college, career, and life. The program is built around five pillars—Leadership, Education, Community, Health, and Wealth—and provides students with exposure to accomplished professionals, real-world experiences, and structured mentorship.


Mr. Whitaker currently serves the Foundation as Board Member Emeritus, continuing to support the long-term vision and growth of the OARSmen Program.


Professionally, he is the President of Texas Whitaker Group, an insurance and financial services organization specializing in property and casualty insurance, business risk management, and retirement solutions. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has received numerous national industry recognitions for leadership, production, and client service.


In addition to his professional work, Mr. Whitaker has served on several nonprofit and civic boards focused on youth development, education, and community advancement. His work reflects a long-standing belief that mentorship, exposure, and opportunity are essential to preparing the next generation of leaders.


He is a graduate of the University of Houston and resides in the Dallas–Fort Worth area with his wife.
